- The walls are clean and the existing paint is the same color and sheen
- The original paint is recent
- Damage is small and spread out
Repaint when
- Touch-ups would sit in a wall that catches window light
- The sheen or color has changed since it was painted
- There are many repairs on one wall
- The previous tenant painted a color
